To Find nearby fuel stations, tap the fuel stations tab (located along the bottom of the application). GPS detection may take up to 3 minutes for an accurate reading. While detection is happening, you will see the text "loading". Once GPS detection is complete, you will automatically be presented with the 5 closet fuel stations complete with a price trend meter, associated branding, address, etc. To get directions, tap the row of the station you prefer. You will be presented with a map view. The station you selected will be centered on the map. To get directions, tap the station logo, and then tap the blue arrow to launch the maps application. The maps application will launch with directions provided for you.
You may notice when the application first launches, you are presented with a login screen. If you prefer not to create a user account you can still use the application for finding, locating, and saving on automotive services, but you will not be able to add vehicles, enter and track records, etc. To create a user account tap the "New User" button and enter your email address and a password. Tap "Register" when you are finished. Once you are registered, you will be presented with an empty list of vehicles. To add vehicles tap the "+" icon located at the top of the screen. iMotorManager uses industry standard trim identifiers to track vehicles, so the application only supports vehicles newer than 1990. Select your year, make, model, and trim, enter your garage zip code, and current mileage and save the vehicle. Once saved, the vehicle will appear on your "Vehicles" screen.
Once registered and after you have created at least 1 vehicle, you will now be able to add service records to that vehicle. From the main vehicles screen, simply tap the green "Gas Up" button to add a fillup record. Or tap the red "Service" button and select the service type to enter a service record. For the first phase release, the application supports tracking of Fillups, Brakes, Oil, Tires, and Car Washes. These are the most common, everyday maintenance tasks associated with vehicle ownership.
To view statistics tap the whole row for the vehicle for which you want to view stats. You will be presented with a stats summary view. Each row in the table will have a small icon representing current trends. There are 3 trend icons: Flat - costs are remaining consistent. Increase - costs are increasing. Decrease - costs are decreasing. Two rows in the table can be tapped for additional information. The Cost Per Gallon, and Miles Per Gallon rows can be tapped to bring up a graph view of the last 10 fillups providing instant visual trend identification.
From the stats summary view, you can view all your service records by tapping the "View Records" button located at the top. You will be presented with a view allowing you to select the type of records you want view. Tap the record type, and you will be presented with a list of the entries you have provided. Tapping on a specific record will allow you to edit the record.
To edit the current mileage, or garage zip code of your vehicle, return to the vehicles home screen and tap the blue accessory located in the row. Year, Make, Model, and Trim details cannot be edited. You must delete the vehicle and add a new one if you need to make a vehicle change.
To view current promotions, click on the "Coupons" tab. You will be presented with whatever services and promotions are currently being offered. This view will be constantly updated, and may or may not include location detection as much of this view is governed by current sponsors and associated regional and national offers. Be sure to check back often for updates.
